When we started dreaming about adding on-site lodging to Half Moon Empire, we couldn’t decide: should all the cottages look exactly the same, or should each one have its own story? Honestly, it was stressful during the build and decorating phase—but we are so glad we chose to make them unique.
Each of our seven cottages is inspired by our family, our land, and the places that mean the most to us. Together, they sleep up to 42 of your most important people—making your wedding more than a five-hour reception, but a full weekend of connection, laughter, and memories.
Here’s a closer look at each cottage:
🌙 The Empire
This is our bridal suite or honeymoon cottage—and she’s a showstopper. All things bold and beautiful: white and black tones, a dramatic king bed, a sparkling chandelier over the bathtub, and a tiled walk-in shower. Perfect for newlyweds or the bride and her closest crew on wedding morning.
🌙 Century Oak
Named after our centuries-old oak trees on the property, this cottage is rich and moody with dark green tones. Inside you’ll find rustic details, owl décor (a nod to our owls on property), and cozy textures that feel like you’re tucked away under the trees.
🌙 Three Sons
This one is extra special—it was designed by our boys. They chose the same shade of blue as their bedroom at home and filled the space with their creativity: a Lego tissue box, clear lamps stuffed with Pokémon cards and Hot Wheels, and touches of Spider-Man. Kids in the wedding party love this cottage—it’s playful, fun, and full of boyhood charm.
🌙 Garden Days
Both of our families come from generations of gardeners. My dad’s garden still feeds us with salsa, pickled jalapeños, marinara, onions, and our favorite homemade dill pickles. This cottage celebrates that heritage with soft green walls and garden-inspired décor.
🌙 The Olsen
Brian and I had our very first date at Olsen Field, the baseball stadium at Texas A&M. This maroon-toned cottage is a nod to that, but it also honors all the colleges in our family. You’ll see flags from Texas A&M, University of Texas, Southwest Texas, and Sam Houston State proudly displayed inside.
🌙 The Coastline
Our family grew up making memories in Rockport and Port Aransas, and in 2020, my parents bought a coast house that quickly became our favorite getaway. This cottage is painted a calming coastal blue and filled with seashells and beachy accents—it’s like bringing the coast to the countryside.
🌙 The Texan
We’re born and raised Texans, and this cottage says it all. Brown tones, a bold king “Texan” bed, and flags celebrating our state pride. You’ll also see nods to our house-divided NFL fandom—Cowboys vs. Texans—because that’s just who we are.
