Can you see it? Brian and Deidra crazy in love, engaged after only five months of dating. Excited to start life as husband and wife, the wedding planning process took off in a sprint. Everyone they knew had giant weddings at the local dance hall. You know the one… the massive metal building, low ceilings, metal chairs, and all beige. Beautiful weddings, proms and celebrations took place there, but only after thousands of dollars in decor and hours from decorators.
We wanted something different, but there were no options. We’ve always been big dreamers. “Let’s build a venue” didn’t come out of thin air. It’s been our dream for fifteen years. However, the timing was never right…
Until now.
We followed the signs. I know, I know that sounds crazy. But we truly believe that after all of the pain and joys along the way, God led us right here. In a matter of 12 months, we sold our dream home in town that we built from the ground up, renovated a farmhouse, moved to the country, got kittens, a puppy, goats and donkeys!! The dream was to build another dream home, but while cozy in our farmhouse, it didn’t feel right. Driving around on the beautiful property covered in century oaks, my bestie said words that would bring our dream off the back burner… why don’t you build your venue? Finally it felt right.
We love hosting and we love staying home. Maybe you call that being introverted extroverts. We spent five years at our last home hosting holidays, retreats, sleepovers and women’s conferences. Big dreamers, remember? From the first moment we stepped on the farm, we knew we wanted people here. People who needed to feel the peace and see the beauty. People who needed to feel togetherness, laugh, cry and get away. A safe haven for kids, and a place for our three boys to be free. The venue checks all the boxes.
Half Moon Empire is located in Shiner “the cleanest little city in Texas.” Sixty miles from New Braunfels, San Antonio and Austin. Sitting on 76 acres of rolling hills, creek bottom, ponds with catfish and bass and amazing peace and quiet. Half Moon Empire got its name by mixing Shiner’s history with our family businesses—Froebel Empire and Sister Empire—a legacy we pray passes on for generations.
